Metro Behavioral Health Services offers a wide variety of treatment options for patients who have been suffering with Anorexia and/or Bulimia.
Whether it is treatment for Anorexia, Bulimia, emotional or compulsive over-eating disorders, the professional staff at MBHA can offer counseling using new methods of treatment that have been proven to be most effective. There are many different approaches to resolving eating disorders, and each patient’s treatment plan is custom tailored to address their root causes whether environmental, genetic, medical, psychological or behavioral.
Our comprehensive approach usually includes individual and group psychotherapy, nutritional counseling, medical monitoring, medication management, family support, education and more.
Some treatment options for Anorexia include the Maudsley Method, a family-based process of weight restoration aimed at children and adolescents. This involves one-on-one counseling with patients and families; both in and out of the meal settings to enhance daily coping strategies.
Our IOP (Intensive Outpatient Program) helps patients transition from higher levels of care to outpatient status. Treatment groups may include music therapy, yoga, alternate coping skills, nutritional education, family support, relapse prevention and more. The IOP also includes a daily supervised meal to regulate eating patterns for Bulimia and Anorexia patients with appropriate meal supervision and counseling.
Our philosophy of respect and compassionate care will ensure that each patient is carefully assessed to determine the most beneficial treatment.
