Jennie founded MBHA in 2007 with the mission of creating a safe place where clients, families and loved ones could find dignified, comprehensive, individualized and collaborative options for treatment.

Prior to founding MBHA, Jennie worked in private practice specializing in the treatment of all forms of eating disorders.  Jennie also spent five years as a Director of the Renfrew Centers for Eating Disorders.  Jennie is a seasoned therapist providing individual, group, couples, and family counseling.

Prior to becoming a therapist in 2003, Jennie had a successful career as a management consultant to the healthcare industry, ultimately serving as Chief Operating Officer of a privately held healthcare business.

Jennie provides clinical oversight and direction to all MBHA clinicians and ensures that all MBHA providers and clients benefit from the intersection of evidence-based practice, their own lived experience, and clinical expertise.

Jennie is an active advocate in the mental health field and has been interviewed and published in the media extensively.  In 2013, coinciding with the inclusion of Bing Eating Disorder in the DSM-5 Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Jennie co-authored the book “Overcoming Bing Eating for Dummies” for the popular Wiley series.  From 2014 through its merger with the National Eating Disorders Association in 2018, Jennie served on the Executive Board of the Binge Eating Disorder Association, most recently as Chairperson of the Board.

“After decades of conventional therapy (counseling, on-the-couch analysis, and psychotherapy), I landed at MBHA. Through the various offerings MBHA guides me to integrate past modalities with cognitive behavioral approaches that ultimately result in what all therapy is meant to do: help me to make sense of my life and to experience truly BEING in my life with all that it entails.”
